At A Better Way Dog Training, my goal is for clients to become great pack leaders by being proactive in their dog training experiences. In addition, you get to share in the delight of seeing your dog change before your eyes. I offer effective private one on one in home training at competitive pricing for your convenience. I teach you how to achieve balance in your home using dog psychology method, and positive reinforcement training. My program is designed to help you train your dog in a non-distracting environment, in your home, and gradually introduce distractions along the way to advanced training. Dog training is based on building a relationship with your dog using natural pack behavior. By using the dog psychology techniques, and positive reinforcement, I can address any behavioral issues.

About The Trainer

My name is Jamie and I am the owner and operator of A Better Way Dog Training. I grew up in a home where there were more dogs then kids. Interacting and studying dog behavior was a part of my life. My mom and dad were proactive in showing our dogs all over Southern/ Northern California.

We  showed and ran the rescue for Norwegian Elkhounds and golden retrievers. Rehabilitating and placing them in loving homes. I started training and showing when I was very young. Showing in conformation and obedience.  Learning to be the pack- leader, and understand  canine behavior was a crucial part of showing and rehabilitating rescue dogs. Spending my time with abused animals from shelters really made me realize this would be a life goal for me. Watching them transform and placing them in loving homes was everything to me and my family. 
I moved to Texas in my early 30’s and started training and showing horses as well as working with dogs. My goal is to help people find A BETTER WAY to communicate more effectively to correct  those problem behaviors and help people understand why your dog behaves the way he/she does. I aim to help more people find A Better Way, and a more effective way to train their dogs and live a happily with their best friend.
